Jan 6, 2016- Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel held discussions with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Wednesday. 
“I informed the ministers about the difficulties surrounding friendly Nepal-India ties and problems that have surfaced in the past few months due to the blockade,” Poudel told the post after meeting the Indian ministers, “They said that India was aware about the problems facing Nepal and difficulties in the supply of essential commodities and expressed their commitment to solve the issue.”       
Leader Poudel said that he informed the ministers that his party Nepali Congress was collaborating and working as per the political agreement with Indian leaders to address the demands of Madhes. He informed the ministers that in a few days the constitution amendment process would come to a close. 
“Protests on both sides of the border at the no man's land are not an appropriate, we are striving to address the demands of Madhes,” Poudel told Swaraj, “I have requested for India’s active initiation to ease the supplies into Nepal ending border obstructions.” 
Foreign Minister Swaraj reminded Poudel about Nepal’s Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa’s commitment to ease the situation by solving Nepal’s internal political problem after amendments in the constitution. Saying that Indian government was aware about suffering faced by Nepali people, Minister Swaraj expressed her belief that the relationship between Nepal and India would ease soon. 
Podel said his visit was a move to improve the relationship between two countries and denied any political motives behind the visit.
